Acne Light Treatment
Acne light treatment involves the use of ultraviolet light to kill the bacteria. Acne is a
skin condition that affects millions of people worldwide. People are always searching for different treatments. Most people that get this
condition are going through puberty, although some adults do suffer from it as well. Excess sebum secreted from the sebaceous glands cause the
acne outbreak.
Acne light treatment involves the use of
phototherapy or light therapy by using fluorescent lamps, lasers, LED lights, bright bulbs or full spectrum lights. This form of therapy is and
scientifically and technically proven to help reduce the problem of acne. It kills the bacteria that are responsible for causing
acne.
For people that suffer from a persistent form of acne that stubbornly refuses to respond to cream
or any other medication then acne light treatment may be an option to consider. One reason why light was first used is the positive effects the
sun has on problem acne. Since the long-term exposure to the sun is considered dangerous to your health, it is not considered a good treatment
for your acne.
Acne light treatment usually takes approximately fifteen minutes per session and usually there are
two sessions per week. The total length of the program depends on the severity of the acne. However, the minimum treatment time is four to five
weeks. Studies have shown that the effects of most treatment with light lasts from one to three years for teenagers and it should last a lifetime
for most adults.
Acne light treatment is proving to be one of the best methods for getting rid of acne. They are no
known side effects with it as well. The bacteria always have the chance of becoming resistant to medications, so with this method there is no
medication involved.
